Matthew K recommends Moonrise The Warriors

By Matthew K

The book I'll be reviewing today is called Moonrise The Warriors The New Prophecy Book 2 .  The reason I chose this book is because my cousin recommended it to me and he loves to read, so I thought it might be a good choice and I was right!  I started reading it right away and I really liked that the book was about cats and I really like cats, I have two of my own!  I mean, the cats in the book could talk, but it was still about cats! If you want to read the first chapter of the book click here.
Also if you want to check out the author, Erin Hunter, and her other books, click here.

This book took place in several different fantasy territories as seen above. Each clan of cats had it's own territory.  I liked the Star Clan the best because they were featured the most in the book.  The entire book took place in the outdoors. The different territories had different weather patterns and geographical features.  An example of that is that the Wind Clan's territory was the Plains territory which had a lot of wind because it was a flat area of land.

Six cats have set out to find a way to save their forest from Twolegs (humans). They are told by a Badger that they must find a new home or all the clans will be destroyed. In this book, they are on their way back home to deliver this message to the clan leader. On their way, they meet up with a wild cat clan with secrets who wants to fight with them. The main theme of the book is survival. The cats decide to avoid going through the forest to avoid Twolegs and the wild cat clans, they can not afford to be in fights or get hurt so they struggle to get home through tougher lands. Along the way, the cats are challenged by foxes, ferocious eagles who want to eat them and treacherous terrain.  Meanwhile, back at their home, the cats are watching as their home is destroyed by Twolegs and they don't know what to do while they wait for the cats to get back with the message.

I can relate to this book. The cats are seeing their home being destroyed by man who is making a road. We see this happening everyday in our world. Wildlife is being displaced by developments being built up for people. That is why we have laws to try and protect our wildlife from things like this.

I would recommend this book. It has a lot of twists and unexpected things that happen in the plot and to the characters.  It definitely made me want to continue to read the series. There are 6 books in this series.  I will move on to number 3 next! Hope you'll join me!
