I just recently finished a story called The Mark of Athena! I picked this amazing book because I really enjoy watching and reading about Greek Mythology. Another reason why I picked this book is because the book has a lot of suspense and adventurous moments within the book since I love those kinds of books.
The setting of The Mark of Athena has several settings although, it mainly takes place on their way to Rome. The journey mostly took place over sea. The story speaks in a third-person point of view. The plot in The Mark of Athena is 7 of the most powerful demigods from Greece and Rome unite to defeat a very powerful and evil Titan that is awakening from thousands of years, and her name is... Gaea. Gaea has the control of almost anything on the planet. She has control of the Earth/ground. If she wakes from her thousand year sleep, she will abuse her powers and destroy the world. It is all up to the 7 demigods to save the world.
The two most important characters in the story are Jason Grace and Percy Jackson. Jason Grace is the son of Jupiter/Zeus, he has the power to control the skies and wind and send out lightning bolts. Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon/Neptune, he has the power to control the seas, he can send out giant waves at his enemies. They are important characters because they are both the most powerful out of the 7 demigods, besides Frank. Percy and Jason start off the story in the first book The Lost Hero. They are both leading the 7 demigods to war.
The theme of this novel is about friendship, loyalty, and trust. This is because All of the characters have to be loyal to each other while they are in battle or they will make a mistake and die. And you have to form some sort of friendship to be able to care about others. And finally, you need to be able to trust each other. If you don't trust someone, they might do the opposite of what you say and that could lead to fighting.
I can compare this novel to the books The Lost Hero and The Son of Neptune because both books were written by Rick Riordan, both has a lot of suspenseful and adventurous moments into the book.
I would also definitely recommend this book to those who like Greek and Roman Mythology. Or if they like books that has suspense.
