Brendan N recommends Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief

Now I am reviewing a book called Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief. The reason why I chose this book was because the cover looked very interesting and I read the description on the back of the book. I also chose this book because I thought that if I think its interesting then you would too. The book is full of action and adventure. After I read the description, then I went straight into the book. I was really into the book. The book had gods, demi-gods, and different types of creatures. In the beginning, the story takes place at a private school in New York, where some teachers are strange. Percy goes to school with his best friend named Grover. Percy's whole class goes on a field trip to a museum. During the trip, Mrs Dodds, the math teacher, tells Percy to
come with her. Some of us know Mrs Dodds as something more then a human being but Percy only knows her as a mean, nasty, disgusting, old math teacher. Then Mrs Dodds turns from a teacher to almost a demon. Then Mr Brunner tossed him a pen which turns into a sword. When Percy defeats Mrs Dodds, everyone forgets about Mrs Dodds and then everybody is saying that their was no Mrs Dodds. Instead there was a Mrs Kerr.

At the middle, the story now takes place at New York City or NYC for short. He went to NYC to see his mom. Percy's mom worked at a candy shop. The candy shops theme is blue because one day Percy got a step dad and the step dad said that he hates the color blue. The step dad is named Gabe Ugliano. He treated Percy and his mom like dirt just because he lives in the apartment. Gabe smells terrible too. Soon, Percy and his mom go to Montauk to their beach house. Then out of nowhere, both of them hear a knock on the door and when Percy opened the front door, Grover was there. Then Percy,Percy's mom, and Grover drive to an area that they don't know where they are going except Percy's mom. All of a sudden, a giant minotaur attacks them. That's when Percy and Grover find Camp Half-Blood. Camp Half-Blood is a camp meant for only Gods or Demi-Gods.

At the end, the story takes place at Camp Half-Blood but Percy, Grover, and their friend, Annabeth, go to Las Vegas. There, they meet more people and discover more places. I could of explained it to you all but I don't want to spoil the book to you if you didn't read the book yet or didn't finish the book yet.The main character of the story is Percy Jackson. He has ADHD which is a type of disorder. That ADHD doesn't really help him read english but it lets him read Greek. The theme of this story is about a kid who finds out that he has special abilities and he finds friends and together they will stop the evil. This book reminds me of my life when I would see something and I thought that it was weird but then understood it. This is the first book of the series and there is a lot more books in the series.
