Marco T. recommends Brainrush

                                                            Brainrush; by Richard Bard

Recently, I finished reading the novel; Brainrush by Richard Bard. Richard bard is an amazing author, I seem to think he’s the best thing since sliced bread. I chose this book because it seemed to come to me, when looking at this book, the storyline blurted out to me I’m full of action and once you pick me up, you’ll never put me down!” Then I was way too intrigued to put the book back on the shelf. I had to read it; I had to…

The setting of this novel is in many different locations around the globe. The story starts out in a warm, sunny day in San Jose. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and you can’t forget the fresh scent of international terrorists plotting to conquer the United States. They also go visit Afghanistan, to “squash some bugs.” This book is told in the third person of view.

On the warm sunny day In San Jose, thunderclouds start to form in Jake’s mind. He had just been diagnosed with brain cancer, and had about one year to enjoy his life. The doctor also wants Jake to go take another MRI test to make sure the results were valid. There Jake stood, his thoughts crepuscular, hands shaking and his eye’s shattering. Jake stood nervous in the MRI waiting room. He felt uneasy. But onward he walked into the testing room. As the doctor slid him into the narrow tube, he felt claustrophobic. As the doctor starts the test, Jake Bronson’s mind is going berserk. The doctor flips the red switch, and sits down.

Jake lays there, trapped in his own dimension, with no escape.  Suddenly, an alarm sounds in Jake’s mind. He screams but to no avail, the doctor can’t hear him over the loud thumping noise from the machine. Out of the blue, the ground starts to rumble and roar, the ceiling starts to crack, the walls start to crumble, and the ceiling collapses! Jake suddenly realizes that this was a dream. Jake takes a large breath and relaxes again. Then exactly like in his dream, the earth around him starts to shake, the doctor presses the emergency button, but it won’t work! The earthquake broke the emergency generators! Jake feels a warm liquid pooling in his ear. Finally, the machine stops working and he is able to slide his way out of it. The doctor runs in the room, and escorts him outside. Then, Jake’s roommate comes and picks him up. It is in his car, when odd things start happening.

Jake is in the car with him, when he suddenly realizes he lost his wallet. He thinks of what he had in it, he suddenly “jumps” back into the past and recalls what was in it. He then subtracts that amount of money from his bank account, not even knowing what it was. He also can remember the number to report a lost credit card; he borrows his roommate’s phone to call the number.

Richard Bard
I can totally connect with a person that had a super-freak accident in an MRI test because of an earthquake, then goes to use his super-abilities against international terrorists plotting to take over and kill all citizens of the United States! I know that dude! I met him once in a special place called ‘My Imagination’. I really enjoyed reading this book, I literally couldn’t put it down! I would recommend this book to all people who are action lovers! I loved this book, and there are several reasons why, One, there were no down-spots when you felt like you wanted to rip your eyelashes out one by one. Secondly, the author, Richard Bard, uses very descriptive words! If you would like to read part of this story, click here.
