Goodwife Cruff and Prudencee Group 6

 Prudence and Goodwife Cruff

“Prudence, you were late to supper. Where were you?” wondered  Goodwife

Cruff.
“I was playing in the fields with the other girls, ‘Twas very fun!” answered Prudence.
”No supper for you!” Goodwife Cruff proclaimed in a booming voice.
“I am used to this because of the little food I get anyway,” Prudence thought to herself. Later that night Prudence was hungrier than she thought she would be so she snuck and got some food. Footsteps were heard and Prudence hid.
“Is anyone here?” Prudence heard in a threatening voice. Prudence showed herself because she was afraid that Goodwife Cruff would find out later.
Prudence just got hit with a belt and kicked in the head. “Dear Journal, my mother just hit me with a belt and kicked me. I didn’t get any dinner. I am very hungry. I wish father would come home already. He was always kinder than mother. I will try to fall asleep to stop my hunger. Sincerely Prudence“
“It’s morning wake up,” Goodwife Cruff wailed viciously, “You can have my leftover breakfast; it’s all you deserve.”
“Okay” Prudence agreed.
Later that day, Prudence went out to do her work when she saw Kit. Kit taught her another lesson.
“I will have to go home now it’s is getting late"  Prudence was walking home and suddenly she heard...
“What are you doing here!“ said a voice out of thin air. Prudence turned around and saw Goodwife Cruff.
“I was just coming home from working in the fields.”
“You don’t work over here!” Goodwife Cruff exclaimed suspiciously.
“Well… ’ well nothing, now kneel down for your punishment, than tell me where you were!
“Okay, Okay, I was at the witches house learning how to read and from Kit.  ”Prudence stated guiltily
“Who be Kit?” Goodwife Cruff asked.
“She is the girl who saved my doll on the Dolphin, you remember, right?”
“Of course I do. Thats the witch who stopped the wind and could float, if you ever go to her again you will regret you what you did.”
Prudence never saw Kit or Hannah at Hannah’s house ever again. She lived her lonely life with her abusive mother and her father who was never around. She married the man who loved her but who she didn’t love back.
