James Taufman illuminates "The Road Not Taken"

The Road Not Taken

And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could <-- He really thought about his decision
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,    <--- He thinks that the paths are equal
l and

And both that morning equally lay
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
I doubted if I should ever come back.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
I think this poem is about decisions. In the beginning Frost talks about one major decision and how he he could only make it once. He talks about how he thought about both the paths he could take. Then he chooses his own path to do what he wants instead of following the career that most people take. After he makes this choice he starts to make decision after decision and it becomes easier. Yet as he looks back he thinks that there would be no difference if he took the other path. But after he retires he is regretful of some of the decisions but at the same time he is proud of his decision's.

The two Poetic devices are
-Rhyme
-Imagery
